Located 12 miles south of Cambridge, the refuge consists of over 27,000 acres of woodland, rich tidal marsh, freshwater ponds and managed cropland.

Over 50 miles of country roads make for a great cycling experience in and around Blackwater NWR. Three cycling loops that follow flat, low traffic roads are perfect for cyclists of all abilities.

This interpreted 4-mile long driving path takes visitors through several types of wildlife-rich habitat found at Blackwater NWR, including tidal marshland, forest, fields, and man-made ponds.

Tidewater Motorcoach is locally owned and operated by Shirley & Del Kailianu. The company has been in business since 1995 and has traveled more than a half million accident free miles, providing transportation to over 1200 satisfied customers.
