The Maryland Heritage Areas and Preservation program is designed to preserve and enhance heritage resources within a specified area to strengthen the local economy. This is possible through a matching grant program for capital and non-capital projects available to non-profit organizations and government entities; low interest loans; and tax credits to businesses and individuals to restore or preserve historic properties.
